Research in Multicultural and Values Education (REMVE) strives to maintain the highest ethical standards during the peer-review publication process. The journal REMVE follows the rules and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) for the peer-review publication process. COPE expects all those involved in the editorial and publication process, including authors, reviewers, and editors, to be honest, open, and responsible.
What Authors are Responsible for
Authors submitting manuscripts to the journal must ensure that their work is original, properly cited according to the APA 7 manual, and does not contain plagiarism. Manuscripts submitted must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere. You must properly cite all sources of data and ideas you use. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the data and results in their work are correct.
Any type of research involving human subjects must follow ethical guidelines and obtain proper informed consent and ethics committee approval. Authors should be aware of any potential conflicts of interest and any funds they receive.
What Reviewers Should Do
Peer reviewers are very important to keep the quality and integrity of the journal high. Reviewers should review manuscripts honestly, fairly, and promptly. It is important that you keep all information about the review process confidential. Reviewers should point out to editors if they have conflicts of interest that might make it difficult for them to provide an unbiased review, and they should not review in such cases.
Responsibilities for the Editors
Editors must ensure that all submissions are judged solely on their academic merit and not on ethnicity, gender, nationality, religion, or political beliefs. Editors are responsible for ensuring that all submissions are treated confidentially and fairly, and must take appropriate action if they believe that someone has done something wrong, e.g., plagiarized, fabricated data, or used an unethical research method.
Misconduct and Retraction Policy
The journal will investigate any identified ethical breaches, such as plagiarism, duplicate publication of the same work, falsification of data, or breaches of research ethics in accordance with the rules established by COPE. If misconduct is proven, the appropriate steps will be taken. This may include rejection or retraction of the article, notification of the authors’ institutions, and, where appropriate, public statements.
